Jim Jessup, President
Jim has seventeen years’ experience in the IT industry working as an IT Manager for large publicly traded multinational corporations, managing an IT consulting practice and owning/operating Affinity Managed IT.
His primary focus is exceeding clients’ expectations through exceptional service, honesty and out of the box thinking. No project is too big for Jim and Affinity working collaboratively with all stakeholders involved to create smooth transitions for clients and meeting all requirements and deadlines. With a calm and “Zen” like demeanor Jim puts clients at ease during otherwise stressful situations.
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Jim has a passion for his community and recreation. Work/life balance is very important to Jim and his colleagues as this ensures that Affinity can be the most effective for its clients.
Jim holds a Master’s degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University, Computer Science Diploma from Capilano University and is a Certified Microsoft Systems Administrator.
Art Chen, VP – Support Services
Art Chen co-founded Affinity Managed IT in 2011 with a vision to create an IT Services company that surpassed all his customer’s expectations for great service. Art is a veteran in the IT services and consulting industry with over thirteen years’ customer focused experience. Over his career Art has held positions at Perspective Technology, Shorebridge Technology Group, Uniserve Professional Services and now Affinity Managed IT.
Art’s focus is to deliver solutions to clients that are cost effective and personalized to suit each client’s business goals. It is his attention to detail combined with personal customer service that has resulted in a client base that has been with him for more than a decade, and additionally have led to ongoing referrals which are now core clients at Affinity Managed IT.
Matthew Williams, VP – Solution Design
Matthew Williams joined Affinity Managed IT in 2011, bringing with him an extensive background in systems architecture, systems administration, network design, and project management. At the age of 15, Matthew became one of the youngest recipients ever to receive a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer designation. More than twelve years later, Matthew holds nearly a dozen certifications, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia, and a passion for continual learning.
Matthew is focused on providing Affinity’s customers with the best possible solutions by taking the time to understand their needs and continual improving Affinity’s product offerings to enable our clients to focus on what matters most, running their businesses.
Menno Bos, Director of Business Development
Menno brings a strong business analyst viewpoint and over 15 years of IT project and business development experience to defining client needs. He believes it is essential to analyze and synthesize information provided by the customers, staff, IT professionals, vendors and executives who interact with the business. He works with Affinity’s clients to identify the actual needs of the business, not simply expressed desires. He often plays a central role in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology, and serves as a “translator” between vendors, technical specialists and business decision makers.
Originally a forester by training with a minor in business and Fortran, Menno is true generalist with 15 years of broad experience in manufacturing and distribution operations, as well as running his own business. With a strong commitment to ongoing education, this gives him the ability grasp key issues and priorities and to work with people of diverse points of view.
He has worked with Affinity since 2012.
